"It not only tells the story of Emily Kame Kngwarreye as one of Australia's greatest contemporary artists but also tells the story of her life as a custodian of the desert country that inspired her work." said Craddock Morton, Director of the National Museum of Australia when opening Utopia: the Genius of Emily Kame Kngwarreye
This bibliography only covers publications since the painters's death in 1996. It is intended to update the substantial bibliography by Margo Neale in “Kngwarreye, Emily Kame.Emily Kame Kngwarreye : Alhalkere : paintings from Utopia (Brisbane : South Yarra, Vic. Although extensive, this bibliography is necessarily a work in progress, and it is hoped that readers will advise the National Museum of Australia Library of omissions or deficiencies. All such communications should be addressed to National Museum of Australia Library.

(PhD, University of New South Wales, 2005) <http://www.library.unsw.edu.au/~thesis/adt-NUN/public/adt-NUN20060116.112542/>
This thesis examines the relationship between art and place, and challenges
conventional readings of the paintings of the late Aboriginal Anmatyerr elder
Emily Kame Kngwarray of Australia and Canadian/American modernist artist Agnes
Martin. In the case of Kngwarray, connections between body, ground and canvas
are extensively explored through stories told to the author by Emily’s
countrywomen at Utopia in the Northern Territory.

Emily
Kame Kngwarreye (c. 1910-1996) is widely regarded as one of the most notable
Aboriginal artists of recent times and the pre-eminent woman artist of the
desert region. The remarkable painterly and conceptual originality of her work
extended her influence well beyond the previous reach of contemporary Aboriginal
art and attracted widespread international interest.

NOOSA Blue is a level above the usual Noosa experience, with its Matisse colour scheme, outdoor spa baths on the rooftop of the private suites, original artworks by Australian greats such as John Olsen, Emily Kngwarreye and Robert Klippel, and a walkway that meanders through tropical gardens on the way to the suites, all adding up to a resort that's unique in Noosa.
