Using the Library

This guide aims to help Museum staff and visiting public use the Research Library's collection and services.

The Museum Research Library collects material in the areas of museum studies, conservation, Australian Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders, Australian history and the Australian environment. These are grouped into the reference, general and serial collections, and are identified by the prefix used on the item's call number. See the finding materials on the shelves for more information.

Only Museum staff may borrow from the collection.  Visiting researchers may view material in the Research Library's reading room. Appointment procedures can be found here.

The Research Library Online Catalogue is the gateway to all of the Research Library's resources.
