This report relates to Aboriginal artefacts collected by Edmund Milne (1861-1917). Milne was born on 3 December 1861 and died on 23 August 1917. During his career he worked for NSW Railways. His son, Edmund Osborn Milne (DSO, OBE, VD) was born on 8 November 1886 and died on 11 April 1963. On behalf of Milne's family, his son Edmund Osborn Milne, managed the donation of Milne's collection of Aboriginal artefacts to the Australian Institute of Anatomy. This collection was subsequently transferred to the National Museum of Australia after it closed. Please note, regarding the catalogue record for this report, the NHC collection name for these artefacts is 'Edmund Milne collection' and not 'Edmund O. Milne collection'. |
