The items in this archival collection represents two events held for Dr Mike Smith in 2013. The first event: "'The Compleat Archaeologist' : Mike Smith, desert archaeology and museums - a tribute to Dr Mike Smith AM," was held on Friday, February 8, in the Visions Theatre at the Museum. The second event: Book launch of Mike Smith's publication "The archaeology of Australia's deserts," held at 3 pm on Friday, March 22, in the Friends lounge at the Museum. Attendees at the book launch included Tom Griffiths, Peter Eve and Philip Jones. The collection was deposited with the Research Library after the events in 2013. |
