Summary "Wanderers Football Club is one of three Darwin football clubs commemorating their centenary in 2017. At times in Wanderers history this may have seemed a very unlikely prospect. Football success is most often measured in premierships but Wanderers history is more about survival against the odds, diversity, friendship and opportunity. Perhaps most of all it is about the love of the game because at times that was all Wanderers players and supporters had! In the first decade of the Northern Territory Football League Wanderers won six premierships and played in e very grand final between 1917-1924/25. Wanderers ceased to exist 1925/26 to 1929/30 and 1936 to 1946 when the club was resurrected. Wanderers 100 years of football can be attributed to the Herculean efforts of a few individuals at critical times and the unsung contributions of many throughout its history. Through good times and bad Wanderers passionately embraced its own and strived to play a brand of football that was exciting to play and to watch."--Introduction.
